Residents Are Excited to Find Tons of 100 US Dollar Banknotes

MEDIA NEWS - Piles of US$100 banknotes suddenly shocked the residents of the city of Sin el Fil in Lebanon.

The viral incident was originally revealed from a video showing the position of money scattered in a trash can.

The local residents were happy to hear the news, they hoped they could get out of the economic crisis.

However, upon further investigation by the authorities, the money turned out to be counterfeit.

An unidentified cleaner turned out to be the first person to find the pile of US dollars.

This is a fact, Nabil Kahala, the Mayor of Sin el Fil, said that residents had doubts and questions after the video of the pile of money went viral.

"What happened is true, but this is counterfeit money," he said as quoted by Gulf News, Friday (15/10).

Nabil Kahala suspects the money is property used by the filmmaker.

"It's a plain paper with a picture of a $100 bill printed on it. It probably belongs to an institution engaged in filmmaking," he explained.
